Regional Youth Orchestra Concert

Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC)
Sunday 11:00am – 12:30pm

Regional Youth Orchestra NSW (RYO NSW) is an audition-based youth orchestra of talented students from NSW Regional Conservatoriums, delivering unique opportunities for its members to play and perform with other regional youth musicians, and to learn from leading conductors, orchestras and performers from Australia and the world, in a range of exciting projects each year.
RYO NSW was established in 2016 by the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums, as an outcome of several years of successful orchestral projects in collaboration with Australian and international orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
In September 2016, RYO NSW performed with the Australian World Orchestra on the stage of the Sydney Opera House, as part of AWO’s public concert broadcast live nationally. RYO NSW gave its first full-length concert performance as the closing event of ARTLANDS, Regional Arts Australia’s national Conference and Festival, held in Dubbo in October 2016.
Partners for ongoing RYO projects include Australian World Orchestra, Opera Australia Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Conservatorium, providing RYO NSW with access to the very best professional mentors for workshops, masterclasses and performance projects that educate, challenge and inspire young regional musicians.

RYO NSW is organised by ANSWRC Performance Projects Workparty:

  • Patrick Brennan, Director, Central Coast Conservatorium
  • Paul Scott-Williams, Director, Goulburn Regional Conservatorium
  • Adam Wills, Director Clarence Valley Conservatorium
  • Vivienne Winther, Director, Macquarie Conservatorium Dubbo
