Yinarr Maramali’s Weaving Warrabah project

Foyer, Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall
Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday 10:00am – 2:00pm

This project will see the creation of a large scale woven sculpture in honour of Warrabah (Short Neck Turtle and their home).  Woven with local native grasses, the collaborative art work will come together over a series of workshops for women and girls to be held in Tamworth, Quirindi, Walhallow, Armidale and Moree.  Teaching both traditional and contemporary weaving techniques, the workshops provide mentoring and the passing down of important local weaving knowledge to the Gomeroi Community.
