Catherine Marciniak

Over the past 30 years Catherine has crafted stories as both a cinematographer and director, carving out a career as one of Australia’s leading independent documentary makers. She has created over 40 hours of national and international television programming including the co-development and originating director of The Life Series: Life at 1 and Life at 3 following 11 young Australians, and one of the director/writers of Who Do You Think You Are (Australia).
In 2010 Catherine was appointed to the position of ABC Open North Coast Producer, working as a digital storytelling mentor and facilitator within the North Coast community, assisting people to share their stories across the ABC. In November 2013, she was appointed as Video Executive Producer in ABC Multiplatform mentoring and training staff across Australia in short form factual programming for TV and web. During this time, on behalf of the ABC she co-developed with Screenworks the pilot project for Createability, to assist emerging digital storytellers to develop their skills, receive broadcaster credits on multiple platforms and showcase an inspiring regional artist.
